Notice Minnesota (prototype) · Effective August 5, 2026 · Operated by CW Strategies LLC, Woodbury, Minnesota

The short version: we collect the least we can deliver with, we never sell or share it, and we delete it the day you ask. The safest data is the data we never collect.

What we collect

• If you subscribe by text: your phone number and the place(s) you ask to follow. That's the whole record. We never ask for your home address, your name, or anything else.
• If you ask a free-text question (on this site or by text): the question and the answer are stored anonymously — never linked to who asked. We keep them to learn what Minnesotans actually want to know; that's the point of the product.
• If you have a text conversation: so replies make sense, the last 30 minutes of your conversation are kept under an anonymous one-way code — never your phone number — and erased automatically. So the service never nags, one marker is kept for 30 days under the same anonymous code recording only whether it already asked you its one question — no words, nothing else. Text FORGET to erase both immediately.
• If you ask for something by email: your email address, used only to send what you asked for.
• What we don't collect: no browsing history, no location tracking, no advertising identifiers, no cookies beyond what the hosting platform requires to serve the page.

What we do with it

One thing: deliver the civic information you asked for. We never sell your information. We never share it with third parties for their use. We don't run ads. Message content is processed by our service providers (SMS carrier, cloud hosting, AI processing) solely to deliver the service.

Texting terms

Message frequency varies with what your local governments are doing — typically a few messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. Text STOP at any time to unsubscribe (you'll get one confirmation and nothing more). Text HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is never sold, shared, or transferred, and is never a condition of anything.

Deletion

Ask, and your number, places, and email are deleted — same day, no questions. Text STOP, or email the contact below.

Honesty about breaches

No database anywhere is unbreakable. Our defense is keeping so little that a breach would find almost nothing: a phone number and a city name, no identity attached to questions, nothing else.

This is a prototype

Notice Minnesota is a working prototype exploring civic-information delivery for Minnesota. It is operated by CW Strategies LLC and is not an official product of any news organization.
